HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The Kansas men’s golf team is set to compete in the Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas, which begins on Monday, April 27, and continues for three rounds before concluding on Wednesday, April 29.

“This is a great week for the Big 12 Championship on one of the best courses in the world.” Kansas coach Jamie Bermel said. “Prairie Dunes is a special place. We will get all of the elements of golf in the spring in Kansas. Wind, rain, cold, and maybe some warm temperatures. The key to this golf course is patience and being mentally tough.”

The Jayhawks will compete in a 16-team field that includes Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Arizona, BYU, Utah, TCU, Colorado, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas State, Baylor, and UCF.

Coach Bermel will travel with seniors Will King, Luke Honner, juniors Will Baker, Max Jelinek, sophomore Hartej Grewal, and freshman Arthur Carlier. Jelinek will travel with the team and be an alternative throughout the tournament.

“We had a good week of practice, got some guys rested up and I think we are ready for the challenge.” Bermel added.
